Carlo Ruiz Giraldo is a development professional and policy advisor, making significant contributions to inclusive economic growth, sustainable development, and innovation. With a strong academic background and a diverse career spanning continents, Carlo has worked shaping policies, strategies, and partnerships to drive positive change and empower communities.

Holding a Master of Arts in Socio-Environmental Studies and a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Administration, Carlo's educational foundation is further reinforced by a Doctorate in Jurisprudence with a specialization in Economic Law.

In his current role as a Global Policy Advisor for Recovery Solutions and Human Mobility at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York, Carlo has been instrumental in shaping UNDP's policy guidance on livelihoods, economic recovery, and private sector development. His innovative approach has seamlessly integrated digital solutions to foster inclusive economic recovery and integration across diverse development contexts worldwide.

Carlo's impact extends beyond policy work. His abiding passion for music led him to produce and host a radio show and contribute to music magazines in Ecuador. This creative endeavor has not only enriched cultural exchanges but also facilitated cross-cultural dialogue, showcasing his unique ability to bridge divides and amplify shared human experiences.

Carlo has also lent his expertise to numerous organizations, including the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), International IDEA, and the Organization of American States, advising on matters ranging from constitutional reform to environmental management, addressing complex challenges.

Apart from his professional contributions, Carlo spent several years as a faculty member at FLACSO Ecuador and SEK International University in his home country, Ecuador. There, he shared his knowledge and insights by teaching public policy, environmental law, and energy governance.

Fluent in English, Spanish, and French, Carlo possesses the skills to navigate cultural nuances, forge partnerships, and drive transformative change for international development.
