Independent Film Director, Producer & Music Supervisor
Jonathan McHugh is an independent filmmaker as well as a TV and film music supervisor who has held high ranking positions at New Line Cinema/Warner Brothers, Sony Records and Universal Records over the past few decades.
He has just finished directing his first two films; “Long Live Rock…Celebrate the Chaos" (playing in the GMS/Mondo.NYC 1st Annual Film Fest) as well as “Cosplay Universe.” He has produced over 30 films and TV shows.
McHugh has music supervised and produced 75 films & TV series with some of music’s biggest stars including Janis Joplin’s highly regarded documentary, Lionsgate‘s “Snoop Dogg‘s Hood of Horror," “Repo The Generic Opera,” (Sarah Brightman), Lifetime’s “Flying By” (Billy Ray Cyrus) and Discovery’ TV’s “Battle Ground Earth” (Ludacris & Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee.) He is currently producing the Muhammad Ali documentary “City of Ali.”
McHugh most recently music supervised the Cinemax/HBO TV series “Jett” and is currently supervising the animated series “The Fabulous Fury Freak Brothers” starring Tiffany Haddish, Woody Harrelson and John Goodman. He has just completed music supervision of the independent films “Butter” and “Dweller.”
McHugh is a former Grammy Trustee and President of the LA Chapter, Producers Guild Documentary jury member and Secretary and co-founder of the Guild of Music Supervisors, which just celebrated its 10th Anniversary.
