Lilies of David
Barnegat, NJ
Lilies of David is a six-piece alt-pop/rock band based in New Jersey, blending emotional depth with narrative driven storytelling. The group features Jeremy Rotolo (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Dierdra McGrath (lead vocals), Emily Alcaide (vocals, rhythm guitar), Michael Pulice (lead guitar), Matt Sonzogni (bass), and Derek Arnheiter (drums).
What began as an intimate pop duo between Rotolo and McGrath – born from a real-life relationship – has since evolved into a full-fledged band rooted in honesty. Though the pair have since gone their separate ways romantically, their creative chemistry remains the pulse of the project.
With a dynamic reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac and a sound that bridges lush alt-pop and expressive rock, Lilies of David thrives on contrast: masculine and feminine energy, vulnerability and power, theatricality and raw honesty. Rotolo’s background in theater brings an emotive, story-driven edge to the band's sound, while McGrath’s vocals – evocative of Billie Eilish’s haunting tone – add a compelling softness that cuts deep.
Together, they craft songs that feel both cinematic and deeply personal.
Their new single “Nightlite,” released in July 2025, is a moody, late-night anthem that captures the nostalgic ache of an almost-love and the chaos it left behind.
