ABOUT

As music supervisor with more than 25 years of experience in theatrical, premium cable and streaming productions, Michael selects source music and negotiates licenses and fees; supervises on-set playback; helps directors and producers choose composers; and works closely with editors and composers from temp score to final mix. Recent projects include three 2026 Emmy-nominated series: The Diplomat (Netflix), The Gilded Age (HBO) and Your Friends + Neighbors (Apple TV +). Upcoming projects include season two of the comedy Best Medicine (FOX) and a new limited series from The Affair showrunner Sarah Treem, Cry Wolf (FX).

Prior to his career in music supervision, Michael spent fifteen years in the A&R department of Warner Bros Records in New York City, where he scouted talent and worked with a wide range of artists in the recording studio. Most memorably, he worked with alternative rock legends The Replacements and lived to tell the tale. He has also written about music for Rolling Stone, Mojo and the late, great Village Voice.
