Audrey Fix Schaefer

President of the Board, National Independent Venue Association

Audrey is the communications director for I.M.P. and its legendary venues in Washington, D.C.: 9:30 Club, The Anthem, Merriweather Post Pavilion, Lincoln Theatre and The Atlantis. She is President of the Board of Directors for the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and headed communications when the association formed in 2020 and was part of the team that spearheaded the effort to gain $16 billion in emergency relief for independent venues in the U.S. shuttered due to the pandemic. She was awarded a Clio Award and Wammie Award for her advocacy work in the national effort to Save Our Stages. She won NIVA’s Blayne Tucker Award for Advocacy and has been named a VenuesNow’s All Star. Prior to joining I.M.P. 18 years ago, she was Vice President of Corporate Communications for Sprint Nextel where she led the financial and crisis communications, media and community relations teams.
