Collin White

CTO, Muserk

Collin began his development career in genetic bioinformatics, where he architected data analysis pipelines for whole human genome sequencing research across a global consortium. His work focused on high-throughput processing, reproducibility and collaboration at scale. From there, he helped build genetic interpretation applications that allowed medical professionals to load genome snippets directly into the browser, enabling genetic counselors to identify rare variants and diagnose previously undiagnosed illnesses.

This early focus on life-changing data applications shaped Collin’s career: combining a love for making a difference with expertise in large-scale data processing. He brought this background to the music industry, joining Muserk to tackle one of its most entrenched challenges: royalty and rights administration.

At Muserk, Collin has been instrumental in building and now leading the engineering team behind Blue Matter, the company’s proprietary global publishing administration platform. Blue Matter automates and scales historically manual and fragmented processes in rights management, enabling the discovery of unclaimed royalties, automated rights delivery and transparent royalty distribution across billions of usage records worldwide.

As CTO, Collin leads a team of engineers who design automation pipelines, machine learning matching systems and cloud-native architectures that power Muserk’s solutions for publishers, labels and rights organizations. His work bridges the gap between industry expertise and modern engineering, ensuring that technology is applied thoughtfully to long-standing industry problems.

Collin is based in Nashville, TN and remains passionate about building systems that drive real-world impact, whether advancing medical research or ensuring creators are fairly compensated for their work.

Boring Is Back: The Rise of Infrastructure, AI, and the Tech Behind the Music Business

Thursday, October 16, 2025, 12:00 PM

In the music industry, it’s not the flashy front-end tools making the biggest impact — it’s the foundational tech behind the scenes. From rights infrastructure to royalty automation, from metadata cleanup to AI-powered catalog valuation, the "boring" parts of the business are where the real innovation (and revenue) is happening.

This panel will explore how AI, automation, and scalable data systems are transforming how music is monetized, tracked, and valued across borders. We’ll look at how these technologies are enabling global scale, improving transparency, and opening new doors for creators, publishers, and investors alike.

Key Panel Subject Matter:
AI and automation in royalty matching and rights management

Fixing metadata to unlock global monetization

Catalog valuation and investment strategies using tech

Building interoperable systems across global platforms and territories

Why infrastructure is now a strategic advantage in music
