Jamie Jou is a seasoned music licensing and clearance specialist with over a decade of experience navigating the complex world of rights management across music, television, advertising, digital media and branded content. Known for a meticulous and strategic approach, Jamie specializes in securing music and talent clearances, ensuring that creative visions are brought to life without legal compromise.
She began her career working in rights management and copyright at The Harry Fox Agency and Sony Music which led her to working in sync and talent at NBCUniversal, Conde Nast and eventually her current role as Director of Music, BA licensing at McCann New York, where she manages high-profile commercial campaigns for clients including, Mastercard, TJ MAXX, Reckitt Benckiser, Chick-Fil-A, L’Oreal and Qualcomm.
Jamie’s deep industry knowledge, combined with a pragmatic, solutions-driven mindset, has made her a trusted partner for producers, creatives and legal teams alike. Whether working with emerging artists or iconic catalogs, she aims to bring clarity to complexity, educating those on the value of music to bring better collaboration in the world of sync. Outside of the office, Jamie enjoys playing music for her local church, cooking and baking with her kids and finding a new show to binge.
