John Atzberger

John Atzberger is Director of Royalty Data: Analytics and Reporting at SoundCloud. With nearly 20 years experience in the Royalty space, John’s roles have often included analysis of royalty earnings as relates to financial performance leading to investigations of fraudulent consumption and content: the last line of defense before money changes hands. This work has involved multiple streaming royalty models and recording rights as well as publishing. John’s research follows patterns of attack and methods of detection. In collaboration with anti-abuse teams, engineering solutions and third-party detection tools, John’s passion for creating a level playing field amongst authentic creators drives this work.
