ABOUT
Crystal Nicole Morris is the Founder and CEO of Digital Royalty Distribution (DRD), a royalty administration company combining music rights expertise with technology to help creators and rights holders manage their catalogs, identify and collect royalties, and protect the value of their music.
With more than a decade of experience in the music business and a professional background in accounting, Crystal brings a unique financial perspective to music rights and royalty administration. Her work is rooted in advancing transparency, accuracy, and ownership in music rights, helping creators understand what they are owed, recover what they have earned, and maintain control of their intellectual property.
Founded in 2018, DRD provides publishing administration, catalog and metadata management, royalty collection, sync licensing, royalty auditing, and white-label administration. Through its work, DRD helps address the gaps in registrations, ownership data, and metadata that can prevent royalties from reaching the creators and rights holders who earned them.
Crystal’s expertise spans music publishing administration, royalty recovery, catalog monetization, rights management, and creator education. She is an advocate for greater transparency and literacy within the music rights ecosystem, with a focus on making the complexities of royalty collection and rights administration more understandable and accessible to independent creators.
Most recently, Crystal developed Royalty IQ, DRD’s proprietary client-facing royalty platform designed to give clients greater visibility into their catalogs, royalty statements, and payments. The platform represents an expansion of DRD’s technology capabilities and Crystal’s broader vision for creating more transparent and accessible royalty administration tools for independent rights holders.
Crystal previously served as Vice President of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) Atlanta Chapter and is a member of the Recording Academy.
