ABOUT

Evan Whikehart is General Manager, North America at IDOL, the Paris-headquartered independent distributor. Based in Brooklyn, he leads IDOL's operations across North America and LATAM, overseeing a regional network that includes labels Mexican Summer, Moderna Records, and HighNote Records, alongside artists TOKiMONSTA, Erick the Architect (Flatbush Zombies), and The Presidents of the United States of America. Evan is also helping roll out IDOL's new DTC services in the U.S., expected to launch in Q3 2026, bringing his expertise in physical distribution to expand that side of the business through third-party partnerships that build clients' online stores and manage physical music and merchandise sales.

Evan brings two decades of experience in independent music to the role. He joins IDOL from Secretly Distribution, where he built the company's Label & Shared Services division from the ground up, directing campaigns from 2020 onward for artists including Hayley Williams, Sufjan Stevens, Santigold, The War on Drugs, Beirut, and Crumb, while also developing B2B partnerships including A24 Music. Prior to that, he served as Project Manager at Secretly Group starting in 2015, managing Grammy-nominated campaigns for artists on the Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, and Secretly Canadian rosters, including Bon Iver, Phoebe Bridgers, and Mitski.

At IDOL, Evan brings a rare dual perspective from both the label and distribution sides of the business, helping the company expand its footprint across North America and LATAM while staying true to its fully independent, self-funded approach.
