ABOUT

Ian Jeffreys is the Co-Founder and Executive Producer of TEMPEST Original Music & Sound, a creative music and sound agency he launched in 2022 with Mike MacAllister and Aaron Kotler. From studios in New York and LA, with collaborators across six continents, TEMPEST creates original scores, sonic branding, sound design, and remixes music for clients including Apple TV+, HBO, Netflix, Warner Bros., Focus Features, Walmart, Mercedes-Benz, and Geico. Under Ian’s leadership, the agency’s work has earned a Cannes Lions Grand Prix, two Grand Clios, top honors at the LIAs, and Best in Class recognition at the One Show, along with D&AD Pencils, an AMP Award, and a Golden Trailer Award.

Before founding TEMPEST, Ian spent 15 years as Executive Producer and Managing Director of Butter Music & Sound, where he helped scale the company and open studios on the West Coast and in Europe, picking up three Cannes Lions along with One Show, AICP, and AMP honors. He then joined Netflix Music Lab, working on music for trailers and original programming including The Diplomat, Unfrosted, Love Is Blind, and the Stranger Things Experience.

Ian holds a degree from Berklee College of Music and an Executive MBA in Creative Leadership from the Berlin School of Creative Leadership, where his capstone research, Generative AI and the Future of Advertising Music, examined how generative tools are reshaping composition, workflows, and creative value in the ad industry — work that now informs how he leads TEMPEST at the intersection of music, technology, and brand storytelling.
