Jessie Richard

For nearly a decade, Jessie has helped lead RIAA’s legislative and policy advocacy in Washington, DC, and the states, shaping the creative community’s strategic response to a series of high stakes challenges, from protecting legacy artists to combatting foreign piracy to today’s historic effort to protect intellectual property rights in the age of AI. Jessie frequently testifies and presents at panels, roundtables, and government hearings and is a lead negotiator for music interests in all phases of the legislative process. Jessie is a respected bridge builder, committed to forging consensus and finding practical, sustainable solutions to problems at the intersection of technological innovation and creators’ rights, who brings both deep substantive knowledge and years of hands-on policymaking experience to her advocacy for strong intellectual property rights and creative freedom. Before joining RIAA, Jessie practiced law at Williams & Connolly, LLP, specializing in commercial litigation and intellectual property and earned degrees from Dartmouth College and the University of Michigan Law School.
