ABOUT

With over 25 years of industry experience, Jonathan Finegold is a Guild of Music Supervisors (GMS) award-winning music supervisor, renowned for his work on Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated documentary Little Richard: I Am Everything. Finegold specializes in indie films, particularly documentaries and indie features. His approach to music supervision involves meticulously selecting songs, securing their rights, hiring composers, orchestrating the recording and production of original music, negotiating soundtrack deals, and coordinating “fair use.”

He is the founder of Fine Gold Music (FGM), a boutique sync licensing agency based in New York City. FGM represents a substantial number of indie titles for sync, securing placements in advertisements, films, television series, trailers, video games, and beyond.

Finegold, a 25+ year voting member of NARAS (Grammy), is also an adjunct professor and the minor coordinator in the Music Industry program at Marymount Manhattan College. He has taught at New York University for over a decade. Additionally, he serves as a special consultant for Brooklyn College in the development of its music industry major.

Finegold, a retired radio (WNYU-FM) and Club DJ (The World, Save The Robots), has presented and conducted masterclasses at music industry conferences and film festivals worldwide, including BIME in Bilbao and Bogotá, Reeperbahn in Germany, CMW in Toronto, and others. He also operates El Pitch Perfecto, a live event where music supervisors critique artists seeking to synchronize their music
