Josephine Alin

Josephine Alin is Senior Legal Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs, STIM, the Swedish collective management organization for music creators and publishers. She is an experienced copyright lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in copyright, collective rights management, commercial law and competition law.

At STIM, Josephine focuses on legal and strategic issues at the intersection of music, technology and copyright, during the past years with a particular emphasis on generative AI. She has been closely involved in STIM’s work on AI policy and in developing new licensing models for the use of musical works in AI training and AI-generated music. Her work also includes international copyright and licensing issues and collaboration with other collective management organizations, and public policy and legislative advocacy, including contributing to consultations and policy discussions on copyright and emerging technologies. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Stockholm University.
