Karen Macmillan is a seasoned music licensing executive who serves as VP, Creative Sync at Universal Music Group. Based in New York City, she spearheads East Coast advertising sync strategy and placements for the powerhouse REPUBLIC Collective label group, which includes Republic, Island, Def Jam, Mercury, MCA, and Casablanca Records.
With more than 25 years of industry experience, Karen is widely recognized for her proactive and innovative approach to connecting music with visual media. Working across a diverse range of genres, she has secured high-profile placements in major advertising campaigns for leading global brands including Apple, Google, Samsung, Honda, Budweiser, Lowe’s and Amazon.
