ABOUT

Shruti Kumar is a composer, songwriter/producer, and arts advocate working in New York, London, and Los Angeles. Recently, she scored Riz Ahmed’s series BAIT (Left Handed Films, Amazon/MGM), Walt Disney Imagineering’s Thea Award winning Haunted Mansion Experience, and Alicia Keys documentary "Uncharted" (Paramount+). Previously, she joined Daniel Hart writing additional music for seasons one and two of Interview With The Vampire (AMC) and spent time working at Remote Control Productions (Henry Jackman, Hans Zimmer). In the songwriting and production world, Shruti has collaborated with artists and bands including Alicia Keys, Garbage, Nas, No Doubt, Fiona Apple, and Vampire Weekend. In her own writing she aims for a post-genre space that blends her many influences and experiences. Her next album "Nodding Terms" featuring the London Contemporary Orchestra has debuted on the BBC and NPR. Shruti has performed at venues ranging from (le) poisson rouge to The Walt Disney Concert Hall, where she composed, arranged, and conducted a sold-out tribute to Yoko Ono with the LA Phil and Gxrlschool — the LA Times called this “a vision for the way forward.”

Shruti hosts an accoladed radio show on international radio platform dublab and founded Sound Travels, a community and educational resource for musicians during COVID and beyond.

Shruti is on the board of the Composers Diversity Collective and an adjunct faculty member at NYU’s Screen Scoring Program and Clive Davis Institute.
