Jeff Leven is a music attorney and the managing partner of Davis Shapiro Lewit Grabel & Leven, LLP. Mr. Leven�s practice is primarily focused on transactional representation of recording artists, producers, songwriters, independent record labels, independent concert promoters, entrepreneurial start-ups and music publishers. Mr. Leven earned his JD cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2004, where he was also President of the student Committee on Sports & Entertainment Law. He received his A.B., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Princeton University in 2000, where he was also a radio DJ and concert promoter. Prior to joining his current firm, Mr. Leven worked in the Los Angeles office of Loeb & Loeb, LLP. Mr. Leven has spoken on numerous music industry panels, including at Harvard Law School, the Re:Think Music conference, the Australian consulate in Los Angeles and the North Park Music Thing in San Diego. In his spare time, Mr. Leven also writes music reviews and features for a variety of publications, including as a contributing editor of Paste magazine.
