Grammy Nominated songwriter Shelly Peiken has been a prolific, behind-the-scenes force in the music business for more than two decades, during which time her songs have sold in excess of 50 million copies. She is best known for penning culturally resonant, female-empowerment anthems such as Christina Aguilera�s No. 1 hit, �What A Girl Wants� and Meredith Brooks� smash, �Bitch.� Shelly�s book �Confessions of a Serial Songwriter,� a humorous pop culture memoir about her journey � from young girl falling under the spell of magical songs to writing hits of her own earned her a second GRAMMY nomination for Best Spoken Word Album. Shelly is a proud founding member of SONA (Songwriters of N. America) a creators� rights advocacy organization fighting to protect the value of songs in a new music marketplace. She�s a native New Yorker, living in LA with her husband (composer Adam Gorgoni), 2 cats and missing her grown daughter.
