Andrew Goldsmith is a Counsel at Pryor Cashman LLP and a member of the firm’s Litigation Group, whose practice focuses on entertainment and intellectual property litigation, with particular emphasis on music infringement cases. Andrew has extensive experience successfully defending copyright infringement actions, regularly representing major record companies and music publishers, as well as chart-topping recording artists and songwriters. Earlier this year, Andrew successfully defended Ed Sheeran, Atlantic Records and Sony Music Publishing in a landmark copyright jury trial victory, defeating the claim that the hit song “Thinking Out Loud” infringed “Let’s Get It On,” written by Ed Townsend and Marvin Gaye. Andrew also has successfully defended music infringement claims asserted against Future, Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson, Benny Blanco, Khalid, Halsey and Happy Perez, among others.
