Helen Barrass is an experienced music industry professional with over 18 years' experience in strategic global marketing, communication, A&R and events management. Helen spent almost a decade at AWAL, leading #1 single and album campaigns, with artists winning Mercury Awards, BRIT Awards, MOBO, Ivor Novello, BBC Sound Of Poll and many more. Prior to AWAL, Helen worked at Warp Records for six years, and also as a Production Assistant for cult music festival All Tomorrow’s Parties. In June 2022 she joined the team at FUGA as Head of Marketing Strategy and leads the marketing team to support their development of client management skills and industry knowledge. She prides herself on authentic leadership and creating an inclusive environment in the workplace.

This panel will look at current trends in the changing listening habits of fans and the impact this has on the music industry. It will explore the future of artist-fan relationships, the “attention economy,” monetization of fandom over consumption and the importance of short-form videos in artist discovery.
