John Loeffler

Executive Vice President, Head of New York Repertoire and Marketing, BMG

John Loeffler is an American music industry executive and Executive Vice President, Head of New York Repertoire and Marketing for BMG. He helped launch the label in New York in 2019.

In 2020, Loeffler's output included new releases from John Fogerty, The Allman Betts Band, Rufus Wainwright, Bush, Huey Lewis and the News and Cheap Trick with new releases scheduled this fall from Diane Warren featuring Darius Rucker and Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis’s new original album including singles by Babyface and Janet Jackson.

Prior to being named EVP in January 2019 he served as executive director of global development for BMG and developed joint ventures with music and media companies beyond traditional music platforms. He also represented the label's interests to forge new relationships with iconic artists including Roger Waters, Kenny Loggins, Bad Company, John Fogerty and Earth Wind & Fire. Recently, he has been instrumental in helping to launch OM Records, a new music label/joint venture with the French soccer team Olympique de Marseille focusing on local Hip Hop talent.

They will explore the challenges of releasing music during the COVID pandemic as well as describe the different strategies for marketing indie-pop, R&B and hip hop in the era of social media and streaming platforms.
