Michael Hausman

Artist Manager & Musician

Michael Hausman is a seasoned musician and artist manager with a long and diverse career in the music industry. His journey began in 1984 when his band 'Til Tuesday achieved a Billboard Top 10 hit with the song and video “Voices Carry.” The band, featuring Aimee Mann, went on to record three albums for Epic Records, earning multiple gold records, an MTV Best New Artist award and numerous other accolades. These formative experiences gave Michael invaluable insights into the inner workings of the music business.

In the early 1990s, Michael transitioned into artist management, where he has represented a range of prominent artists, including Aimee Mann, David Byrne, Amanda Palmer, Suzanne Vega, Marc Cohn, Lizz Wright,and Peter Cincotti.

In 1999, Michael and Aimee Mann co-founded the independent label SuperEgo Records, releasing Mann’s LP “Bachelor #2,” which won the AFIM Independent Album of the Year award. In 2018, Mann's album "Mental Illness," released on SuperEgo Records, earned the Grammy for Best Folk Album of the year.

Michael currently serves on the boards of SoundExchange Inc. and the advisory board of the Music Managers Forum-US. He has also been a featured speaker at key industry events including CMJ, SXSW, MMF Training US, NARAS Grammy in the Schools, Future of Music Coalition Summits, Digital Music Forum and the Tribeca Film Festival.

He studied music at Berklee College of Music and musicology at Tufts University.
