ONGEA! was created after ten successful years of KENYA MUSIC WEEK from 2004 to 2013.

ONGEA! Africa, the Social Enterprise of PHAT! Music & Entertainment Limited, also partnered with DISCOP to run parallel music in advertising, film, television and gaming program entitled DISCORE at each DISCOP in Abidjan (May 2018), Zanzibar (July 2018) and Johannesburg (November 2018).

Their other Businesses include PHAT!buzz™ (www.phatbuzz.com), a monthly publication since 2000, which also supplies content daily to Safaricom’s sms service of GETiT411 since 2002; and PHAT! Productions, a Founding Member of the Event Managers’ Association of Kenya (EMAK) and Specialists in local & international talent supply and management and live event production for television or video (e.g. award ceremonies, cocktails, concerts, conferences, fashion shows, launches, meetings, team buildings, etc.).

Mike Strano is also a Founding Director of MyMoviesAfrica™ (www.mymovies.africa), a Kenyan digital cinema extension that will take the world’s movies to Africa and Africa’s movies to the world, with its "Bring Cinema Home" model of 48-hour rentals or #OwnForLife purchase.

And in 2017, Mike Strano became one of the founding board members of Music Publishers Association of Kenya (MPAKE), which was approved by the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) for the collection and distribution of royalties on behalf of authors, composers and publishers.
