Dan Goldberg
SVP, Strategy & Ventures, Bravado (Universal Music Group)
ABOUT
Dan Goldberg is a global strategist and music & entertainment industry executive with nearly 25 years of experience at the convergence of culture, commerce, and fandom. He’s an originator in building fan ecosystems, scaling consumer-facing businesses, and driving innovation across music, sports, and lifestyle sectors. One of the few executives recognized as both a strategist and an operator (and a recovering lawyer), Dan brings a rare blend of creative instinct, commercial acumen, and cultural fluency. His background spans merchandising, NIL, rights-driven businesses, and consumer brand building with a track record of operating both zero-to-one and at scale.
Currently, Goldberg serves as Senior Vice President, Strategy & New Ventures at Bravado, Universal Music Group’s global merchandising and brand management division. He leads strategy, corporate development, and new venture creation focused on architecting and executing UMG’s next phase of growth across merchandising, fandom, and adjacent rights-driven businesses, expanding beyond traditional merchandise into scalable, multi-category platforms built around IP, NIL, and long-term enterprise value.
Before joining Bravado, Goldberg was hand-picked to lead the creation of a Music and Entertainment business inside of Fanatics, where he built out the new vertical from scratch. He created a new revenue stream for the company and developed deep relationships in the music community for the sports merchandising giant by pairing together iconic artists with significant sports brands.
Previously, he was SVP of Warner Music Artist Services (now WMX), overseeing Warner Music’s global e-commerce, tour merchandising, VIP experiences, ticketing, fan clubs, and fandom/CRM strategy. He led teams of digital strategists and operators who drove revenue and fan engagement for artists including Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Metallica, Muse, Cardi B, Lizzo, Twenty One Pilots, the Grateful Dead, and others.
Prior to that, Goldberg oversaw business development for Roadrunner Records, briefly practiced entertainment law at The Davis Firm, and ran the legendary Fat Beats. He is a board member of Merch.co.
Goldberg is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School, a member of the New York State Bar, a certified USA Boxing Trainer and a participant in Columbia’s executive leadership program. When not in the office, on the road, or at a show, Goldberg can usually be found obsessing over his wife, kids, dogs, Nina Simone, New York hardcore music, and boxing.
PANELS
Marketing to the Max: Building Revenue That Never Stops
Music is always an unpredictable money game. Artists either capitalize on a moment that cashes in big or have to try to figure out the next paycheck when the hit song dries up. Streaming pays fractions of a cent, a merch drop sells out once and then goes quiet, and most artists and teams end up reacting to income instead of building it on purpose. This panel breaks down what it actually takes to turn a single moment into a six-figure revenue stream, one that keeps paying long after the moment itself is gone. You will walk out with a real plan for building income that does not depend on staying viral, trending, or lucky.
