Waahli is an artist-musician of Haitian descent based in Montreal. He is a member of hip hop supergroup Nomadic Massive. Following the release of his first solo album Black Soap in 2018, Waahli toured the United States and Europe. In summer 2020, the Soap Opera EP – mixing hip hop, Haitian and Afro-Caribbean influences – was released and charted #1 on Earshot’s National Hip Hop Chart. His first single off the EP, ''Bliye Sa'' (pronounced “Blee-Yay Sah” in English meaning ''forget about it'' in Haitian Creole), was co-produced by the Juno award winning musician Boogat. The song was recorded in his Montreal apartment during the pandemic, mixed in Mexico and mastered in Germany. Just prior to the pandemic, Waahli shot the song’s video in Brazil in collaboration with the noted Sao Paulo based director Gabriel Ranzani. Waahli performed at the international festival Pop Montreal in 2020 and Afro Urban Festival in 2021.
