Independent Venues are common places that breed and support artists, community, and cultural identity, led by their workers, staff and bookers. When independent live music comes to a screeching halt, what happens to everyone? We talk to venue owners, bookers and promoters who open up about their challenges to maintain a social business, what it looks like for their future and the kind of support needed well beyond their reopen.

Chris Perella
Partner & Talent Buyer, Ardmore Music Hall (PA)
Chris Perella has been a Philly area club owner, manager & talent buyer at the Ardmore Music Hall since 2014. He is also a partner at Ripplewood and 118 North. Perella & the Ardmore team are involved with booking and marketing for Underground Arts and MilkBoy, and also co-manage the band Everyone Orchestra. Prior to AMH, Parella ran Philadelphia venue The Blockley.
Leigh Bezezekoff
Ticketing & Marketing, Tractor Tavern (Seattle)
Leigh Bezezekoff is Marketing & Social Media Manager at Seattle’s Tractor Tavern. She was previously an artist manager working with The Maldives, Brent Amaker and the Rodeo, & Evening Bell and got her start in the Seattle music scene at KEXP. She is one of the founders of the Washington Nightlife Music Association (wanma.info), an advocacy organization created to support music venues in the state of Washington during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stu Schayot
Talent Buyer & Manager, The Howlin' Wolf (NoLa)
Stu Schayot is the talent buyer/manager for The Howlin' Wolf and the manager for Rebirth Brass Band, Naughty Professor, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Mike Dillon, and Space & Harmony. The Howlin' Wolf in conjunction with The New Orleans Musicians' Clinic is offering free meals to all entertainers, service and hospitality workers and first responders every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Moose stands at the forefront of developing artists and organizations from around the world. At Marauder, he customizes long-term plans and services for each client's specific needs. Through his work running Independent Venue Week in the US, Moose helped create NIVA (National Independent Venue Association) to organize and support American independent venues and promoters.
Jennifer Sellers-Dimitrov
VP. Operations & Booking, CEG
With over a decade of live music and event experience, Jennifer Sellers-Dimitrov is Vice President of Operations and Booking with CEG Presents, an NYC based independent concert promoter, working with venues throughout the Northeast, developing artists and marketing their shows. In addition, she is the showcase director for Mondo.NYC, an annual music and technology conference for emerging artists throughout the globe.
