Senior Vice President, Legal & Business Affairs, MSG Entertainment

Since mid-2012, I have served as Senior Vice President, Legal & Business Affairs for MSG Entertainment. In this role, I oversee the negotiating and drafting of all agreements relating to concerts, comedy shows, family shows and special events that take place in our venues including Madison Square Garden, The Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Beacon Theatre and The Chicago Theatre and have included such events as the 2018 Grammys, the 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief and Dave Chappelle’s 16-show residency at Radio City Music Hall . My team is also responsible for handling the transactional work of MSG’s Productions group which includes perennial favorite the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes and content creation in connection with our forthcoming, state of the art venue in Las Vegas known as Sphere. In addition, I oversee our rights clearances group and the administration of the company’s worldwide trademark portfolio including those of MSG and its affiliate the TAO Group.

Prior to joining MSG, I spent more than 20 years in the music business in such roles as: General Counsel, COO and Co-Founder of tinyOGRE Entertainment, LLC., a joint venture with Sony Music; COO and EVP Business & Legal Affairs at Wind-Up Entertainment, Inc.; Co-General Counsel of BMG Entertainment; EVP of Business & Legal Affairs at s RED Distribution, Relativity Records and LOUD Records and Director of Business & Legal Affairs at RCA Records. I started my legal career as an Associate at the global law firm of Kaye Scholer now known as Arnold & Porter, Kaye Scholer.

I graduated cum laude from American University Washington College of Law, hold a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan and have participated as a panelist/guest speaker at numerous conferences and entertainment industry events.

CLE: Exploring the Convergence of Music, Video Games and Esports: Novel Issues in an Emerging Virtual World

Creative partnerships and integrations are proliferating between the music, video game and esports worlds, a trend more dramatic in the pandemic world. The music industry continues to look for new ways to distribute music and promote artists, particularly in a virtual environment. And video game companies and esports leagues/teams continue to look for ways to promote themselves and drive user participation and viewership. Virtual events, concerts and tours, artist partnerships and other integrations with the gaming world will only continue to grow. This panel will explore the novel issues this convergence presents, including the latest developments in the use and licensing of intellectual property and likeness rights, considerations around technology integration, and data collection.
