Matthew Palermo is a manager in Citrin Cooperman’s Music and Entertainment Valuation Services Practice with significant experience in performing valuations of music publishing and recorded music assets. In 2024, Citrin Cooperman’s Music and Entertainment Valuation Services team conducted over 550 catalog valuations, totaling over $10.6 billion in value. He has experience valuing catalogs across a wide range of genres and vintages. Palermo works closely with major music funds, music publishers, record companies and business managers. In addition to his experience at Citrin he has over nine years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant in public accounting and private roles.
Before joining Citrin Cooperman, Palermo was an Audit Manager at EisnerAmper, focusing on entertainment and sports clients. Palermo began his career at Ernst & Young in New York City and also worked in Blackstone’s Mult-Asset Investing group before joining EisnerAmper.
Palermo received a Bachelor of Science, Double Major: Accounting and Public Relations, from Syracuse University. He also received a Master of Science in Accounting from Syracuse University and a Master of Arts in Music Business from New York University. He has lectured on the topic of Music Valuation at New York University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York.
