Mike Heyliger

Founder, Mindful Vinyl; Host, Radio Free Brooklyn

Mike Heyliger has worked in the music industry for over twenty five years, in capacities ranging from retail to PR to distribution. He was recently honored by Billboard as one of 40 influential LGBTQ music executives on their Pride List. He is also a veteran of music journalism, having written for Popmatters, Ultimate Classic Rock and The Boombox. He hosts and produces the "eclectic old school" music and interview show The JCC on Radio Free Brooklyn, as well as the podcast Detoxicity, an interview series that aims to reframe the conversation around masculinity. Mike is an advocate for mental health and has spoken at schools and on panels about his own experiences with depression and anxiety. He created the initiative Mindful Vinyl, which releases limited edition versions of albums on green vinyl, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the mental health charity the JED Foundation (JED). Mike was born in and is currently a resident of Brooklyn, NY.
