Alyssa Slaimen is Senior Counsel to Senator Peter Welch (D-VT) on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Her portfolio focuses largely on the intersection of intellectual property and artificial intelligence. She has spent the past two years working on legislation that safeguards copyright law and promotes AI transparency.

Prior to joining Senator Welch’s office, Alyssa served as Senior Legal Counsel to the President of the Republic of Palau working on some of Palau’s first intellectual property and technology laws. Alyssa earned her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and her B.A. from Vermont State University.
