Angela Abbott
Global Head of Music Partnerships, Soundstripe
Angela Abbott is a dynamic music executive with over 15 years of experience at the forefront of licensing, partnerships, and innovation across some of the most influential platforms in the music and tech industries. She currently serves as the Global Head of Music Partnerships at Soundstripe, where she leads the strategic direction for partner engagement, rights acquisition, and catalog expansion. Her work directly supports Soundstripe’s evolution into a next-generation sync marketplace – powering over 400,000 sync transactions monthly and setting new standards for creator access and rightsholder trust.
At Soundstripe, Angela is actively building frameworks for licensing music across social platforms, short-form video, and paid media. She is working to onboard major publishers, labels, and third-party libraries, while developing scalable infrastructure to manage fractional rights, dynamic pricing, and new use cases. In close collaboration with product and engineering teams, she is helping shape the company’s positioning in the evolving UGC and micro-sync space. Angela is also focused on strengthening rightsholder trust through transparent deal terms, scalable ingestion processes, and thoughtful catalog curation, ensuring that creators, brands, and music owners all win in this emerging landscape.
Prior to Soundstripe, Angela was on the Business Affairs team at TIDAL, where she closed $100M+ in licensing deals with all major labels and spearheaded the company’s pivot into creator services, including early-stage licensing for AI-powered features and source separation tools. She also helped launch TIDAL’s songwriter relations function, helping bridge the gap between product development and the creator community.
Angela previously held senior roles at Pandora and SiriusXM, where she shaped the platform’s publishing and label licensing strategy during a transformative period. At Pandora, she secured hybrid licensing models during the shift to MLC-based reporting, supported $200M+ label deals for the launch of Pandora Premium, and developed operational best practices for branded content and live-streamed events during the pandemic. Her tenure also included the launch of iconic campaigns and catalogs ranging from Questlove Supreme to Prince's long-awaited digital debut.
In addition to her corporate leadership, Angela is the founder of Sixth Sense MGMT, a boutique management company representing an all-female roster of artists and songwriters. Sixth Sense empowers its talent across licensing, brand partnerships, and music releases, backed by Angela’s unparalleled industry insights and advocacy for women in music.
She is an active member of the Recording Academy, Leadership Music, and Women in Music, where she also mentors emerging executives and creatives.
Angela’s rare combination of licensing fluency, creator empathy, and strategic vision makes her a sought-after voice in conversations about the future of music rights, platform innovation, and artist sustainability. Based in Nashville, she continues to shape the next chapter of music licensing, building systems that work not just for platforms and partners, but for the people who make the music.
