Ben Golant
Chief Counsel for Intellectual Property Policy, Entertainment Software Association
Ben Golant is Chief Counsel for Intellectual Property Policy at the Entertainment Software Association in Washington, DC. There, he represents the video game industry before policymakers at the federal and state levels. Ben started at ESA in September 2015 after a long career in the federal government working at the Federal Communications Commission, the United States Copyright Office, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is an expert on copyright, free speech, online distribution platforms, and advanced consumer technologies. Ben has taught classes on a wide range of communications law topics at the Columbus School of Law – Catholic University and currently teaches a video game law class at
Georgetown University Law Center.
