Liz is Billboard’s senior finance correspondent, covering all things money in the music business. She is drawn to stories about pop stars' pocket books — like how much money Charli XCX’s brat summer generated or what the six songs at the heart of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s rap battle are worth — and lists that shine a light on the financial industry’s influence on music, such as the billionaires backing the music industry and the top private equity firms investing in entertainment. Before Billboard, Liz spent a decade covering Wall Street, the U.S. banking system and retail investing for the international newswire Reuters. She studied journalism with a focus on international relations at Indiana University and Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. She has worked as a journalist in China, Kenya, and Canada, in addition to the United States. Liz grew up in Gary, Ind., the hometown of the Jacksons, and currently lives in Manhattan.
