Ify White-Thorpe

J.D. Candidate, Harvard Law School

Ifeoma White-Thorpe is a J.D. candidate at Harvard Law School where she currently serves as the President of the Recording Artists Project, a student practice organization that services pro-bono work to clients in the entertainment industry. In 2019, Ifeoma was recruited by the CMO of Converse, Inc. to help create and spearhead the Converse All Stars Series – a series dedicated to helping artists use their works to promote social progress. While at Converse, Ifeoma served as an inaugural Converse Marketing Fellow; in this capacity she developed scripts, performed voice overs, and took part in the production of the first spark film for the series. In 2018, a year after being admitted into all Ivy League schools and Stanford, she was recognized by BET as one of the “Great 28” future force African Americans in honor of Black History Month. As a creative herself, she recognizes the need to protect the autonomy and rights of artists. In 2015, she won the National SELMA Essay and Speech competition hosted by Paramount Pictures. Her award-winning speech and essay on civil rights have been on display in the National Liberty Museum since 2015. In her spare time, Ifeoma runs a publishing company for Black women authors called KOLO Publishing LLC. Ifeoma looks forward to a long and fulfilling career in the law where she hopes to foster a nutrient environment for creatives to flourish with the law as their aid, not as their deterrent.
