Jabari Johnson

CEO & Founder, COLORS Worldwide

Since the beginning his career, Jabari Johnson, the Founder and CEO of entertainment company COLORS Worldwide, Inc., has maintained a steady foothold at the forefront of popular culture. With experiences spanning everything from identifying up and coming talent and conducting high-profile celebrity interviews to directing documentaries and plotting large-scale events and executing marketing campaigns, Jabari remains a leader in the music and general entertainment field.

In 2014, Jabari had the idea for a genre amplification company and launched COLORS Worldwide, Inc., an ecosystem designed to incorporate multiple underserved genres through live events, festivals and content creation.

Recognizing a void in R&B music, which has an impassioned community of millions of fans around the world, Johnson launched COLOR Worldwide’s flagship property and live event series R&B ONLY. Even with humble beginnings and small gatherings, word spread quickly and the series grew in prominence. To date, R&B ONLY has produced over 200 events in more than 40 cities and has sold over 250,000 tickets.

This year R&B ONLY will expand globally through content creation, podcasts, ongoing digital and in-person live event series, and an educational component designed to help R&B creators expand and further their careers. In addition, COLORS Worldwide will be adding other underserved genres -- including varied forms of music and comedy -- to its genre amplification offerings.

Prior to founding COLORS Worldwide, Inc., Jabari worked in the digital video department at Capitol Music Group and hosted and produced Face to Face, a music show on BET. He also directed the documentary Discovering Destiny: Tinie Tempah, which chronicled the meteoric rise of the first rapper ever to sell out an arena tour in the United Kingdom. In addition, Jabari produced the online series JABARI PRESENTS, featuring emerging artists such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Wiz Khalifa, Issa Rae, and many more.

At Howard University, where he graduated with a degree in advertising, Jabari interviewed a number of high-profile artists at the dawn of their careers including Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, 50 Cent and many more.
