Ramon Chicharron

Born in Medellin, Colombia and based in Montreal, the multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Ramon Chicharron promotes a heartfelt blend of genres and identities. With his distinctive voice, Ramon combines a seemingly endless supply of catchy hooks and singalong melodies with instrumentation inspired by Latin and Caribbean rhythms and contemporary urban pop. While his EP Merecumbé (2018) was composed in the Costa Rican jungle, the songs of his latest album, Pescador de Sueños, were composed between Montreal and Miami and represent a blend of identities, and the contrasts between the city and nature, tradition and modernism, dreams and reality. His danceable compositions are inspired by a desire to live a simpler life, and for a world without borders or the difficulties one encounters when pursuing his dream. Pescador de Sueños, which translates to “fisherman of dreams,” reminds us of this: a dream is never impossible if you learn to focus your energies and efforts towards an objective. Since first performing in 2015, Ramon Chicharron has become one of the most popular live artists in the Montreal tropical music scene and has been steadily gaining a foothold in the Canadian and international world music markets. He first gained notoriety in Montreal with his popular weekly dance party band, Ramon y Su Son, which played Latin rhythms including salsa, cumbia, merengue and more in the sweaty confines of renowned venue L’Escalier for years. Since beginning to tour in 2016, the group has performed at more than 100 events across Canada, the USA and Colombia. Pescador de Sueños has gained more than 500,000 streams on digital platforms, was #1 on the iTunes Top 200 Canada World chart and the song “Apretao” has secured placement in

October 12, 2021 at 11:00:00 PM

Kim Logan+the Silhouettes

Kim Logan is an artist originally from Florida. Following the release of her debut self-titled album in 2013, Kim spent the years since touring America and Europe with a wheel-of-fortune display of diverse backing musicians, making recorded music with everyone from Grammy-winning producers to bands made up of childhood friends, and continuing a career in staged opera that has spanned two decades. Cutting a global and itinerant path, Kim draws from the veins of varied musical subgenres as reference points for her expression and works to blur the lines between them all.

The next oeuvre of Kim's work, "Pseudoscience," began its release in late 2016, produced and developed by the formidable sonic wizards Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton, Arctic Monkeys), and Brett Orrison (The Black Angels, Widespread Panic). In 2017 came the analog-recorded R&B/soul EP "Fresh Juice," with a cover of Serge Gainsbourg's 1964 Tropicalia hit "Couleur Café” as a B-side to these sessions.

Her second LP, "Shadow Work," was released on 21 February, made in the UK with her Parisian band The Silhouettes, and mixed/mastered back in Nashville with her collaborators from Sputnik and Infrasonic Sound, the engineers behind projects with Third Man Records, Clutch & Seasick Steve. The album was led by the explosive singles "Dirty Business" and "Oedipus Wrecks," and will be followed by 2021 tour dates.

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Jackie has traveled the world playing to massive crowds both as a headliner and as support for major acts such as Gary Clark Jr, Aloe Blacc, and Citizen Cope to name a few. With the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, the cancellation of her entire tour schedule, and the wave of social change sweeping across the country, Jackie committed herself to releasing more music than ever before, connecting with her fans directly and speaking up about the change she wanted to see in her city and country. On April 20th, Jackie released a new EP titled "jackie the robot vol 1," composed entirely of remixes that re-imagine Jackie's critically acclaimed catalogue, showcasing her growth as both a musician and producer. In October 2020, Jackie released her latest studio album "Vintage Machine," her first studio follow up to 2019's "Joy." Music from "Vintage Machine" was featured heavily on Jackie's taping for Austin City Limits' 46th season, and she released the full set on “Live at Austin City Limits” in December. With the uncertainty of the times we're living in, one thing holds true for Jackie Venson: she's going to play her music, speak her truth and spread as much joy as she can doing it.

Monica Rizzio

It’s clear when speaking with singer-songwriter Monica Rizzio that she sees the bright side. Her new album, Sunshine Is Free, is all about doing just that: appreciating how the little things in life make it all worth it. Working with producer Michael Rinne (Kelsey Waldon, Erin Rae, Caroline Spence), the album puts an emphasis on collaboration, with a stacked lineup of guest musicians including Mindy Smith, Maya de Vitry, Joe Pisapia (Guster), Gwen Sebastian (Miranda Lambert), Will Kimbrough (Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell), Todd Lombardo, Spencer Cullum Jr. (Miranda Lambert), Danny Mitchell (Miranda Lambert) and Eamon McLoughlin (Emmylou Harris, the Grand Ole Opry), as well as co-writers including Mindy Smith, Michael Rinne, Gwen Sebastian, Aaron Raitiere (A Star Is Born, Lori McKenna, Anderson East), Carl Anderson, Mark Erelli and Hayley Sabella.

With a perspective equally influenced by her Texas roots and her Cape Cod home, Monica has emerged as one of the finest talents in the East Coast music scene. It's clear she has a keen ability to connect; her songs are often autobiographical but delivered through a fictional approach that aids in creating a universal experience for the listener - - whether it's expressed using her trademark sense of humor or with such striking honesty that the pain in her voice is tangible.

Andrew Weiss and Friends

Music is a tie that binds us. In these trying modern times, real, honest music and art can draw people of vast backgrounds and cultures together for understanding and empathy. Singer-songwriter Andrew Weiss clings to and cherishes moments of intimacy, hard conversations, and emotional currency through his songwriting. A classic glow silhouettes Weiss’s storytelling. He fuses such a throwback warmth and charm right into the work, while offering new perspectives on tried and true subjects. His influences run the gamut -- from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers to Cheap Trick to Buffalo Springfield to The Byrds.

Self-taught on the many instruments he plays, Weiss’s journey sprouted from early exposure to The Beatles, which recently came full circle after a spontaneous run-in and 20 minute conversation with Paul McCartney. He began picking guitar and writing songs at only seven years old, and he would later play in various bands throughout his youth.

A Long Island native, Weiss earned his undergraduate degree in Music Theory and Composition at New York University. During his studies, he wrote music for films and various ensembles. In 2016, Weiss was on a quest to offer a fresh take on the sound of early 1970s Laurel Canyon folk rock, blended with the sound of late '70s power pop. Soon enough, Andrew Weiss and Friends was born. The band’s debut album The Honeymoon Suite was released in late 2018, culminating in an album release show opening for The Spin Doctors at Long Island’s famed venue My Father’s Place. Andrew Weiss and Friends also performed at The Outlaw Roadshow festival alongside Counting Crows and Rob Thomas.

In 2020, Andrew Weiss and Friends released their second album The Golden Age of Love & Chemistry, along with four singles ("Before the World Broke," "The Other Side of the Rock," "Spare Me, Blue Mind"), and an EP (Lookout Mountain). Weiss is currently working on new music for release later this year.

Andrew Weiss and Friends, whose moniker honors music’s essential pairing with camaraderie, never takes itself so seriously as to be distracting, and the work certainly speaks for itself. Weiss’ observations on love, life, and happiness are vital reminders that music is, in fact, a healing agent for us all.
