Doug Cohn is an Emmy-winning entertainment executive and creative leader at the intersection of music, talent relations and digital content creation. He brings a proven track record of developing and delivering highly rated programming and innovative strategies for some of the world’s best-known media companies including Nickelodeon, Atlantic Records and VH1. Throughout his decade-plus tenure at Nickelodeon, Doug played a key role in guiding the careers of homegrown talent, including JoJo Siwa, Ariana Grande, and Big Time Rush, and secured some of music’s biggest acts, including Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Rihanna for the Kids’ Choice Awards and various live-action and animated television series.
As Senior Vice President, Music and Talent, Doug created and ran the music department for Nickelodeon, the No. 1 cable network reaching an audience of more than 100 million. He oversaw music-related content across all lines of Nickelodeon’s businesses, including talent management, development, production, casting, and strategy. In addition, he forged profitable joint development ventures with Sony Music, Live Nation and iHeart Media. He also helped lead the network’s first foray into theater with the Tony Award-winning SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical.
After leaving Nickelodeon, Doug led a new content development vertical as SVP, Music & Entertainment at Cumulus Media. In addition, he booked headline talent and oversaw run-of-show, logistics and content capture for Netflix’s first-ever “Poguelandia” event, a live music festival celebrating the hit series, Outer Banks. In 2023, Doug joined SoundExchange, the premier music tech organization, as VP of Artist and Industry Relations. Leveraging decades-long industry relationships, Doug has significantly heightened the organization's profile in Hollywood by launching the group's first ever Hall of Fame Award series (Mariah Carey, Usher, Jonas Brothers) as well as social media campaigns featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes performances and conversations.
Doug consistently engages and elevates music artists by leveraging decades-long relationships with performers and their teams including managers, agents, labels, and publishers. A trend spotter, he identifies and secures long-term deals with top artists before competitors, generating incremental revenue through exclusive, long-term multiplatform agreements.
A six-time Emmy Award winner, Doug was named a Top 20 industry influencer by Variety and received the Visionary Award from the TJ Martell Foundation. He is a Board member of the JoJo Siwa Foundation, the TJ Martell Foundation and Sustain Music & Nature. In addition, he is an active voting member of both the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. Doug graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis. A resident of Los Angeles, Doug is an avid indoor cyclist, but his favorite activity is spending time with his two sons (who are usually playing baseball) and his terrier-poodle mix dog, Waffles.
