Abby North is a music business professional with 25 years of experience. She is President of North Music Group and a founding member of Unchained Melody Publishing.

North Music Group controls approximately 90,000 copyrights, ranging from evergreen classics like “Unchained Melody” to current commercial and film/TV works.

Abby is involved with industry organizations including the AIMP (as a Board Member of the Los Angeles Chapter), ISNI’s Music Consultation Group, NMPA’s Team 100, Women in Music, SCL, Television Academy and Guild of Music Supervisors.

As a music publisher, Abby deeply understands the frustrations and challenges rights administrators face, and constantly searches for solutions.

To that end, North Music Group has built Royality Rights Manager, cloud-based music publishing royalty processing and rights management software, and Royality Registration Suite, a trio of web-based musical works registration modules.

Aimed at small to mid-sized music publishers and self-administered songwriters, Registration Suite allows users to fill out a proprietary Excel template, drag the file onto the web interface and convert the data to Common Works Registration (CWR) and to The MLC’s Data Quality Initiative (DQI) format.
There is also a CWR Validator and Highlighter, which validates the data within a CWR file, and allows the user to hover over messages to see explanations related to the data.
