President, Reach Music Publishing

Michael Closter is the founder and owner of Reach Music Publishing, Inc. and its affiliate Reach Global. Michael started Reach as an indie music publisher in New York City almost 30 years ago.

Today, headquartered in Burbank California, with additional admin and creative staff working remotely in LA, Nashville and New York, Michael has kept Reach true to its hands-on independent roots; focused on representing a select group of top songwriters and music copyrights for pub administration as well as co-pub deals and copyright acquisitions.

Reach administers and publishes songwriters and catalogs across all genres including the catalogs of John Mayer, Common, Zac Brown, Ice-T, The Knack, Lisa Loeb, Lindsey Stirling, Public Enemy, Danzig and Glenn Tipton (Judas Priest).

Michael first established Reach while still in college in 1991 and began it full-time just a few years after graduation. Michael holds a Bachelor of Music from NYU and an MBA from Duke University.
